CARPATHIAN REGION. Uncertain tribe. 2nd-1st centuries BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 33 mm, 12.68 g, 2 h), 'Zeuskopf/Henkelarmreiter' type. Celticized laureate head of Zeus to right, laurel devolved into two strings of pearls . Rev. Celticized horseman to right; one front leg and one hind leg connected by straight line with central annulet. Dembski 1154 (same reverse die). Flesche 698 var. (differing style). OTA pl. 21, 247/1 (same reverse die). Beautifully toned. Very fine.
